FAQs

Semi-cured gel nail strip

Q: How do I prepare my nails?

A: Wash hands with soap and water. Shape nails and push back cuticles with enclosed wood stick. Use included nail cleanser pads to ensure nails are oil-free and residue-free. Make sure nails are dry before application. You can also use a course-grit nail file or 3-way sanding block to gently rough up the nailbed for good adhesion.

Q: Do I need base gel or top gel?

A: No, base gel and top gel are optional and not necessary for successful use of Zinipin GelLight.

Q: Does it work with short/thin/damaged/brittle nails?

Semi-cured gel nail strips add protection to thin nails, preventing accidental breakage during everyday use.  Because of this, your normally short/brittle/bendy nails will grow longer and stronger than they ever have while using Zinipin Gellight.  Also, if you have really brittle, easily damaged nails, we recommend using Zinipin base gel as it is awesome at protecting your nails.

Q: How can I prevent hair snagging?

A: Zinipin GelLight is designed with a domed curve for a seamless transition to prevent hair snagging, however proper application is key.

Tip 1: When applying, try to leave a little bit of space at the cuticle. It's very important to press down the sides with the wood stick extremely well before curing.

Tip 2: Before use, clean the cuticle line neatly. Dead skin is a main cause of lifting and hair getting caught. Carefully push back the cuticles and optionally remove your cuticles by trimming with a cuticle nipper or gently buffing them away with the included file. Then, ensure the nails are clear from oils and residue by wiping down with the included prep pad.

Tip 3: Use top gel to help seal down the cuticle edge. However avoid flooding the cuticles as this can also cause hair to get caught when the cuticle edge of the top coat begins to separate from the skin.

Q: How do I remove the nail strip?

A: To remove a semi-cured nail strip, apply cuticle oil to the base of the nail to help loosen the adhesive. After a few moments, gently and slowly lift off the nail strip by pushing from the cuticle line toward the tip of the nail with the included wood stick. Do not rush in one quick motion! If you feel any tension, apply more oil, and allow more time for the adhesive to dissolve.

Q: How do I store my leftover Gellight? Does it expire?

A: Before curing your nails, make sure your leftover strips are placed in the black carton in order to prevent being exposed to LED lamp light. Also keep away from any light and humidity. Zinipin Gellight will stay fresh for 12 months after being opened!
